First Haircuts!

Well it was finally time...Kate and Abram were given their first haircuts by their Auntie Jill. Abram is a year old and Kate is three years old. Neither have ever really had haircuts before, so I was a little hesitant. All I can say now is...Thank you Aunt Jill!

Kate was first, she was in desperate need of a haircut! She has curly hair and it was growing into a mullet. Aunt Jill did a fabulous job, and now it finally has some shape. Ultimately, I want Kate's hair to grow out and be long, but along the way, she needs a trim. She looks adorable now with her head full of controlled curls!

Abram's haircut was next. He was a little wiggle worm, and didn't sit still for a second. Aunt Jill did her very best and trying to cut everything evenly. His hair was getting pretty long in the back and he was constantly getting food in it. He looks great and I am so relieved that I won't have to pull cereal bar out of his hair for the next couple of weeks...

A Little somethin' like a Poem:

So I was online tonight, just messing around and found this poem. I thought that it was great. When growing up, my family always ate together with the TV off, it made such an impact in my life. It is very important to me to raise my family to do the same. This poem reminded me of when I was a child and impressed upon me the importance of me continuing on this tradition. Hopefully you will like the poem, and may be also motivated to do the same in your household, if it isn't done already. Remember, it doesn't take very much to make a memory that will last forever!

"They say that times were tough then That money was very tight But I remember my childhood And I know that can't be right Mom would cook our dinner Dad came home at five We were all sitting at the table Waiting for him to arrive We wouldn't eat from a microwave Or a resturant down the street We all ate Mom's home cooking And boy that can't be beat We didn't eat in front of the TV Or with a phone in our hand We weren't plugged into a stereo bopping to the latest band We would all sit at the table Everyone in their place There were never any surprises We reconized every face Brothers to the left of me Sisters to the right That's the way we ate dinner Every single night We laughed we joked we talked we ate We were a family don't you see Though some may have been raised poor You can see it wasn't me We ate collards we ate biscuits We ate fatback and blackeyed peas We said yes sir we said no sir We said thank you ma'am and please So when you talk of family life Or how it used to be Though many had more money None were as rich as me."

I Love You

Well Kevin has been gone for two days, and I am having the hardest time. I just love him so much. It could be that both of my chidren are very sick, and so they aren't sleeping at night. But mostly I hate being away from my Love. It is funny that you don't realize how much you love and need someone until they are not around you. I really do rely on Kevin for a lot and when he is not here, I become an emotional wreck. Yesterday was the hardest, I would just start crying...today has been a lot better. I am going to have to learn to rely on my friend and family to push me through, but I am greatful for the opportunity that Kevin has been given.

My Baby is still sick...

Okay- well I thought we were over this whole cold thing, but then it presented its ugly face again ( in full force). We went to the doctor yesterday and Abram has RSV and so does Kate. Since Abram is small, it is worse...they both also have ear infections. So needless to say, there is no fun going on in the Carpenter home, just medicine, and clorox wipes. Yesterday was the toughest...today is a lot better.

Sick Little Man

Well we got the nasty that was going around. It took a week of hybernation to get everyone well again. Abram got it worse than Kate, but he took it like a man! He had the cough, and runny nose, plus he is teething his first year mollers. Kate got a cough and running nose as well, but not near as bad...thank goodness. We are all better now, and have started to emerge from our hybernation cave!

Puzzles at 3!

I was so proud of Kate. She got her first puzzle from my dad's girlfriend on her 3rd birthday, back in September. Since then, she has been advancing herself up to bigger puzzles. She started with a 12 piece puzzle, then upgraded to a 25 piece puzzle and now she has completed her 63 piece puzzle. The only part I helped her with is the part that had words on it, because she is just learning how to write letters and couldn't put together the cursive writing part. I am very proud of her!

Carharts and Camos

Well he is all boy- right down to his carharts and camos!

Abram

Abram. A one year old who loves life. Can I just say that I love having a boy, but I am scard as heck to see what the future holds! My little man has been walking since he was 11 months old and hasn't stopped since. He is really starting to show his personality now, which is a lot of fun. He is STILL a mama's boy, which I love. I hope he will always be a mama's boy. Abram loves to play with his sister and wrestle with his dad.

Kate

Kate. Need I say more! She is such a smart little girl, who loves her family very much. She has a special relationship with her grandma and I think it is really special. She loves to read, she is learning to write her letters and numbers and is always curious of what time it is. I love to just sit and watch her, and am so thankful Heavenly Father gave her to us. She is a true spirit, so loving and patient.

I hate blogger...what the heck!

Okay...my soap box. I hate this program. I have had it for about a week now and still don't know how to do anything. Is it just me, or is this program ridiculous. I can't change my theme, I can't add music, I can't add a slideshow. I click on help and I read a bunch of words that are supposed to make since and they don't. Stupid. I am going to give it one more week and if nothing has changed...it will be deleted.
